All About Mrs.Lace
I have been married for 11 years. I have two sons. Ages 9 and 2 years old. I enjoy spending time outside with my boys and reading when I am not teaching.
I graduated from Western Michigan University in 2010. I went on to teach 5th grade in Southwest Michigan. During my 15 years of teaching I have focused on teaching language arts to mainly to 5th graders, but also a few years focused in the 6th grade.
In 2021, I earned my masters degree in Literacy from Western Michigan University. During my studies, I learned about the Science of Reading and continued to read the latest research articles regarding reading development in children. As a result of my studies and interest in reading, my students time and time again continue to show mastery of grade level reading skills on the Michigan Student Test of Educational Progress or the M-STEP.

“Too Many students at all ages continue to struggle in becoming proficient readers, and for many, a lack of a strong reading foundation is the cause. Authentic and engaging foundational instruction can help many students move toward reading proficiency.” Timothy Rasinski
